Beautiful Channel Island sweater made on the island of Alderney, part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. This 100% British wool sweater is reversible front to back, with a 'ladder' rib at the top of the sleeves, raised seam on the should and a garter stitch panel, said to represent the ropes of a ship and waves of the ocean. The garment is made of highly twisted worsted wool which helps it resist sea spray and rain. It can be hand washed or dry cleaned. A little lanolin can be added to help retain its characteristics.
