Welcome Back to our Customers in the Era of Covid-19

We are pleased that both of our stores in Bexhill & Eastbourne reopened on Monday, June 15. As part of our welcome back, we are offering up to 30% off the original price of many Spring/Summer apparel items. We have clearance sale rails with some seasonal clothing priced at £10 in our Bexhill store. Both stores also have 50% off rails. 
Our shop hours have changed slightly to accommodate appropriate cleaning & safety procedures. Our opening hours on Monday-Saturday are:

Bexhill: 9:30 am- 4:30 pm, for retail & takeaway food. From July 4, the cafe is open from 9:30 am- 2:30 pm.

Eastbourne: 10:00 am- 5:00pm


There has been a lot going on behind the scenes despite our stores being temporarily closed from March 23 to June 14. We are able to provide you with more ways and a safer environment for shopping with us, as well as a wider range of services.

You may now shop online with Wards at https://wardsgroup.co.uk , and browse our collections on Facebook. In addition to this, we will soon be listed on the Amazon Marketplace. Currently, all of the schoolwear collection and several of our apparel brands for both men & ladies are online. For our online launch, Wards is currently offering up to 30% off the original prices of some of our spring/summer apparel. We will continue to expand the range including basics such as underwear, socks and sleepwear.

There are several ways in which your online purchases can be delivered, including by hand delivery for addresses within 3 miles of the store, postal delivery or click & collect at the store.

Our greatly expanded range of takeaway items is available on our food cart on the ground floor. All of your favourite baked goods including our famous scones & rock cakes are available, and we have added meat pies, quiches and desserts, using many of the same recipes you may have enjoyed in our café. Takeaway food can be purchased on the day but to ensure availability, especially for larger purchases, we recommend placing an order in advance. We have been closely following & implementing the Government’s guidance on managing the risk of Covid-19. We have carried out a risk assessment on both the retail shop & cafe, for staff & customers to read on request.
Below is a list of procedures put in place for the safety of our customers & staff.
We have cleaning, hygiene and social distancing procedures in place. All customers are asked to use the hand sanitizer at entry to the store. Currently, staff will be wearing face masks or shields and latex gloves for your protection.
We will be limiting the number of customers in our Bexhill and Eastbourne shops at any one time. Please wait until one of our colleagues invites you into the store before browsing.
There will be a couple of chairs at the very front of the store for customers to wait for entry, and a queue may be formed outside, on the left side of the store front.

Our returns policy is now 28 days. Any items tried on or returned will be placed in quarantine for 72 hours and then steamed before being returned to the stock floor.

In the cafe, the number of tables has been reduced to ensure appropriate social distancing of at least one metre. All of the food & drink is delivered to your table by a waitress, ensuring minimal contact between guests.
